Not quite molasses in January ...

more like molasses on a chilly October evening ... the progress of the addition and the painting are still grinding along.

There is finally a vaguely photo-worthy development (unless you're all fascinated by the installation of plumbing for the washer (in the wrong spot) and yet another electrician who did not show up) - siding went on the addition today!

The painter has been trying to hit all the very exposed areas of the house now while the weather is still basically good - reserving the more sheltered areas for rainy days that SO FAR haven't been an issue - and is almost done with the bulk of the house. Now he can tackle the addition and the porch (the scraped off parts of the house/porch look EVEN worse next to the freshly painted ones!).

I keep forgetting to mention it to my dad, but I think the addition is going to need some nice little window boxes (painted in the 'cranberry spice' trim color) to make up for the fact that they'll be the only windows on the house without shutters. It'd be nice if we could get them in now - planted with some nice bulbs for Spring enjoyment!

Actually, I, for one, would like to see a photo of the electrician not turning up.

ROTFL - believe it or not, that photo would look pretty much like the one I posted ;)

BTW - he showed up today, FINALLY :)
