being juvenile and culturally insensitive

I managed to get myself five (yes 5!) French lessons behind. I am about to finish my third (and final) one of the day (so maybe I'm just a bit punchy from all my mental overstimulation). The lesson is on shopping - and normally that would be a good thing, no? But I have found something that I will NEVER be able to ask for with a straight face:

la poupée bébé {lah poo-pay-bay-bay} = baby doll

I think you'd have an easier time speaking French in Canada (Quebec or even my home province of New Brunswick) ... we speak "Fringlish": you would just as for "le babydoll toy la" lol.

Hey there, saw your caketastrophes - sorry about the chocolate one for sure, maybe let it cool a bit more? Dunno. Here's a place to look for more great recipes, she plays with recipes and has some great variations going. [cookiemadness.net] And I like your blue cake - I think it looks fab-u-lous! My mother used to put blue food coloring in her homemade biscuits - always an adventure in eating at our house! Unfortunately, she got into cake decorating and everything became tastless cardboard topped by these elaborate crisco-based decorations. Beautiful works of art but you just couldn't eat them Yuk! So keep yours tasty, ok? A little lopsided and tasty is always better than beautiful and tasteless - and I'm not just talking cakes. Hang in there and feel more better soon.
