update

So, my mom went to the hospital on July 1st, and then got moved to pulmonary rehab earlier this week (she thinks she'll be there for 2 or 3 weeks). They're working her like a dog, abut so far she's liking it. She's excited that next week she's going to start working in the pool :)

We have our air conditioning fixed (both in the house and the car). Last night I made a chicken/baked potato dinner and it didn't overheat the house at all - ah, technology is my best friend!

Did I mention that we got all the trees trimmed back and the overgrown landscaping ripped out? Well, we did, and it looks a billion times nicer now (much less 'haunted house'). We've also got the basic outline for the dog yard fence plotted out, and me thinks we have settled on the colors for repainting the outside of the house - a buttery yellow called "Cornsilk" and a kind of wine color called "Cranberry Spice". The house has a green roof, so we have to work with that - and right now it's all white with green trim (like a thousand other houses around here). But I've seen other houses in town that have the green roof, yellow house, and wine trim combo and they look nice. I have also settled on a nice Robin's Egg blue for my bedroom (I feel very Mrs. Blandings saying that, lol).

And speaking of my bedroom - I got a new bed (finally off the air mattress!). It came on Thursday. So, Thursday night as I'm making the bed in order to go to sleep, I attract the attention of a furry four-legged friend - Muneca the cat. For the record, she is NOT a helpful bed-maker. She naturally got herself bound up in pretty much every layer as I went along - and would attack my hand if I tried to extricate her. But the part that I just had to blog about is the fact that after everything was laid down like it should be, she ecstatically rolled around on her back like a lunatic. The picture quality isn't the best (camera phone in a dark room) but I thought you might enjoy ...

Hooray for new beds and Boo for your mom being sick again.

And thanks for the Bday shout out!

Is your room currently green? Because it looks like a nice color in the picture.

My mum's cat is the same: he rolls all over fresh sheets and wipes his feet on them.
